Biography

Rutherford Johnson's professional experience includes economic and statistical analysis, including primary data gathering, for private and public organizations. This work includes projects with the U.S. Forest Service and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He has also worked and consulted on sensitive matters of public affairs, media, international relations, and multi-cultural issues for various private, public, and non-profit national and international organizations around the world. In 2010, while a participant in the G20 Seoul Summit as an accredited member of the media, he was among the first to see the declaration of the world leaders, which concurred with the findings of his earlier published research on the global financial crisis. As a speaker, he has addressed international audiences all over the world on various issues of economics and finacial ethics.

Dr. Johnson holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky, a Master's degree from the School of Economics at Georgia Tech, and a Bachelor's degree with honor in Applied Physics, also from Georgia Tech. He served as an economics professor at the SolBridge International School of Business in Daejeon, South Korea, and was a Visiting Scholar at Georgia Tech's School of Economics. His diverse professional publications include articles on such topics as market effects of health information, ethics of employee evaluations, global market interaction, the global financial crisis, and environmental issues.

Dr. Johnson's foreign language skills include Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Korean. While a graduate student, he was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the economic honor society, and Gamma Sigma Delta, the agriculture honor society. He has been honored by the Governors of Kentucky, Alabama, and Texas. An Eagle Scout and life-long outdoorsman, Dr. Johnson has a passion for sailing and high-altitude mountaineering.
